Michael Maloof is the author of the Kate Preacher Thriller Series—Relentless, Unstoppable, and Defiant—international thrillers built around believable “what if?” scenarios, ordinary people facing extraordinary choices, and consequences that refuse to stay contained.
His debut novel, Relentless, introduced former CIA analyst Kate Preacher and launched a series known for its relentless pace, international scope, and authenticity. Unstoppable continued Kate’s story, while Defiant brings her origin trilogy to its explosive conclusion.
Born with an insatiable curiosity and a genetic case of wanderlust, Michael draws upon a lifetime of experiences that sometimes make his fiction seem almost tame by comparison. His travels have taken him to more than forty countries across six continents—from dredging for gold in Honduras and searching for Mayan artifacts in Guatemala to acquiring uncut diamonds in Liberia and discovering firsthand just how fast an angry elephant can move in Kenya.
His pursuit of authentic experiences has taken him through the jungles and swamps of Cameroon in search of giant frogs, put some of Africa’s most venomous snakes in his hands, and given him opportunities to train alongside Navy SEALs, Marine Raiders, Army Rangers, Green Berets, and the CIA. Those experiences—and the people he has met along the way—bring a level of realism to his novels that keeps the extraordinary grounded in the possible.
A serial entrepreneur, international adventurer, and self-confessed Starbucks Frappuccino addict, Michael spent much of his professional life in the high-tech world before turning his attention to writing the kind of thrillers he loves to read: intelligent, fast-moving stories about compelling characters forced to make impossible choices.
He lives and writes in the mountains of the American South, where he is continuing the Kate Preacher Thriller Series.
