Born in Sussex more years ago than I care to remember I spent my teenage years in Essex before moving to Norfolk where I have continued to live for the biggest part of my life.

Writing has always been important to me, since penning ‘Ponies in the Forest’ in a series of exercise books as an 11 year old, through a couple of nonfiction books on dog sport, and several years spent writing a weekly column for the International journal Dog World.

Then in what might be described as my “third age” I discovered fiction writing and absolutely love it. The freedom to tell myself a story and decide how it will end is intoxicating, and whether writing a fairy-tale for the little ones or a hard hitting crime novel for the grown-ups, I can escape to another world. The factual necessities and accuracy of non fiction restricted my writing for so many years and now I have the freedom to let my imagination run riot.

My method of writing could be described as unusual in that I start with an idea rather than a plan and see where it takes me. Since discovering this incredibly rewarding pastime, I seem unable to stop. I recently had my third book published, and another one accepted, with two more waiting in the wings, I'm certainly prolific.

I'm supported and encouraged by my husband Paul, and slightly surprised grown up kids; and my grandchildren have been the inspiration behind the children’s books.

When not writing I can be found enjoying my other passion, breeding, training and working a long established line of border collies, so don’t be surprised to find a dog in most of my books.
