Katey Wallace is a Taekwondo Master and four-time British Champion who once represented Team GB at the Junior and European Championships. But ask her about any of that and she'll probably shrug.
What she'll actually tell you is this. She was nine when she walked into her first Taekwondo lesson. Overweight, uncoordinated, and absolutely terrified. She fell in love with martial arts that night and the dojang became the one place she felt truly seen. She got her black belt at twelve and started teaching at fourteen, and she's been teaching ever since.
Somewhere along the way, between the bullying at school and the losses in the ring and the years of figuring herself out, she picked up a handful of tools that changed everything. Mindset. Breathing. The way she spoke to herself. The way she stood back up.
She has spent the last thirty years passing those tools on to her students and the young people she teaches. And it drives her mad that nobody else seems to be teaching the important life skills that teens nowadays actually need to combat anxiety and their emotions.
So she wrote it down. You Saw Me For A Reason, Now Read Me is the book she wishes someone had handed her at thirteen, and the book she's wanted to write for most of her adult life.
