To be honest, I think this deserves to be in a medical journal of some kind rather than a competition platform like this one. It's impossible for the average reader to appreciate the complexity of the subject matter let alone the specific scientific understanding at its source. It's prodigious and scholarly and no doubt of immense value to those involved directly or otherwise in the study of this devastating condition.

The book explores a relevant topic and reflects a commendable level of research. The content is informative, though an additional round of editing would help improve clarity, flow, and overall polish.

It's hard for non-medical personnel to understand a lot of medical speak. Some of that is included in this, but it's also interesting and informative, especially as a mother to a child (well, adult now) with Crohn's. I agree that this might not be the best place for it, but it's an interesting read to the right audience, I'm sure.
