The Creative Writing Ink Short Story Competition

The final writing contest judge is writer and academic Kerry Hadley-Pryce

'The Creative Writing Ink Short Story Competition 2022 is open to writers across the globe, until September 30th 2022 at 4pm (GMT). Stories do not need to follow any particular theme or genre, but entries must be written in English. The maximum word count is 3000 words; there is no minimum word count.

First prize is £1000, plus a free creative writing course of the winner's choice and publication on the Creative Writing Ink website. Two runners-up will receive £200 each.

The entry fee for the competition is £9 per entry. There is no limit to the number of entries per person, as long as each entry is paid for individually and includes a separate entry form.

The final judge is writer and academic Kerry Hadley-Pryce. Kerry's first novel, ‘The Black Country’ (Salt Publishing 2015), written as part of her MA Creative Writing, was awarded the Michael Schmidt Prize for Outstanding Achievement. Her second novel, ‘Gamble’ (Salt Publishing 2018) was shortlisted for the Encore Second Novel Award 2019. She is working on her third novel, ‘God’s Country’. She teaches creative writing and has short stories published in Fictive Dream, The Incubator and Brum Radio.'
