Pitched just right for the young reader. The illustrations complement the text perfectly. Perhaps the storyline is a bit predictable and repetitive. A few surprises on the goose chase and a bit more humour would be welcome.

This is heartwarming with a great illustration. It's something I'd get for my children to read. Enjoyed it!

It's the innocence and simplicity of this story that I found adorable. It's perfectly pitched for young children and I love the illustrations. Children will love the animals and the theme of friendship. And it's a cute title. Well done.

There was a lot of cuteness going on in this book. It is a fun and easy read with absolutely adorable illustrations.

This hits the mark for younger readers, with illustrations that complement the text nicely. The plot does feel rather predictable though, treading familiar ground a touch too often. A few unexpected turns and some added wit would lift this considerably—children do appreciate being caught off guard, and a bit more humour would give the story that extra spark it needs to truly stand out.

This sweet birthday story features an adorable goose on a quest for berries with a nice surprise-party payoff, and the "wild goose chase" pun provides clever wordplay for adult readers. However, the repetitive question-and-answer structure drags in the middle, the humor doesn't quite land for the target age group (the animals' technically-correct-but-unhelpful responses may confuse rather than amuse young readers), and the emotional beats feel rushed, particularly the quick transition from Bruce's sadness to the party reveal.
