Yes, Stewart. That is correct. I'm finishing up my storyworld showcase and I have until the end of this month to have it 'live'. I'll let you know when it's avail.

This is super adorable, and I think kids will love it. I think I remember the story about the wing being fixed with the web!

Hats off to you and your memory, Jennifer! Yes, that was Book One and now I'm on book 4. I hope you were able to go to the storyworld i created on my site. I think you'll find it amusing, especially Nash Makes Tea. https:/www.marymurphy.ca/storyworld/
Interesting to see this at…
Interesting to see this at last. The premise is engaging but I wonder what age group this is aimed at? Some of the descriptive passages contain structures and vocabulary for older children who are capable of reading on their own. As far as the illustrations go, I'd recommend some refinement since in their current form they don't really offer much in terms of talking points for younger readers. Overall, it's quite pleasant without being absorbing. An injection of humour and vitality wouldn't go amiss.
Thanks for taking time out…

Thanks for taking time out of your day to write your impressions Stewart. All comments are appreciated.
A few reflections, if anyone's interested.
I genuinely value all feedback, and I always read it carefully, consider it thoughtfully, and make changes whenever I feel they'll strengthen my work. I promise you that. Your comments did allow me to put into words, for anyone interested, a few things I've long believed about writing for children.
I'm very conscious of using more advanced vocabulary for younger children. I believe a strong storyline provides a wonderful opportunity for children to encounter new words naturally and absorb them almost by osmosis. My own introduction to books came through Beatrix Potter and the Rupert Bear books, both of which used vocabulary that stretched young readers like me. I always preferred to write books that children can grow into, rather than out of.
From this side of the computer, it's difficult to know how much of the material people have read, but the illustrations are all connected to the stories in one way or another, and I hope they add another layer to the reading experience. Humour is, of course, very subjective, but I feel there are many moments of gentle humour woven throughout all my children's books.
Thanks so much, Stewart,
Mary
