First 10 Pages - 3K Words Only

The story takes place fifty years from now, opening with devastating floods in Los Angeles that showcase a world ravaged by climate change. The narrative then shifts to a family living 60 miles east in the desert: Derek, his wife, Kira, and their young daughter, Alana.

The family's already-strained relationship, due to Derek's past infidelity, is further tested when Alana becomes ill after encountering a stray dog. Their search for medication leads them to cross paths with Tor and his gang of marauders.

Tor threatens to kidnap the women until Orin, a mysterious man with striking black eyes, saves them from Tor's gang when he shoots a marauder in defense. Because of the ensuing chaos, Orin helps the family flee the scene in their car.

Orin, revealed to be an alien from the Andromeda galaxy, carries emotional trauma from his past. Through flashbacks, we learn he fled his home planet after avenging the murder of his lover, Briex, by a corrupt professor. His mission on Earth involves gathering data about climate change and human behavior.

The story intensifies when Helena, a powerful figure wanting to acquire children in a world where reproduction has become difficult, sends Tor's gang to capture Alana. This leads to violent confrontations resulting in Derek's death. Kira proves her strength by protecting her daughter and accepting help from Orin, who becomes integrated into their small family unit.

The conflict culminates when Badar, an android enforcer from Orin's world, tracks him down. With Kira's help, they defeat Badar, but this victory is shortly followed by a final confrontation with Helena, who is ultimately killed by Kira.

The story concludes with Orin making the difficult decision to return to his planet with another fugitive named Shay. His departure is driven by the hope that his world's advanced technology could help solve Earth's climate crisis. The final scene shows Kira and Alana watching as Orin's spacecraft ascends into the sky, leaving them with both loss and hope for the future.

The screenplay effectively blends science fiction with themes of family, redemption, and environmental crisis, exploring how ordinary people cope with extraordinary circumstances in a world transformed by climate change.
