First 10 Pages

This story is inspired by the true story of my great grandfather.

In 1897, Vladimir Kaminskaya is summoned to appear before Tsar Nicholas II. He fears he is about to be arrested but doesn't know why. At the Winter Palace, standing before the Tsar and Tsarina, Nicholas questions him. With the Tsarina's approval, Vladimir is hired as the Tsar's scribe. To Vladimir's relief, he accepts the position, but later tells his wife, Svetlana that he doesn't feel worthy of the honor and is afraid he won't be good enough especially after hearing the last scribe was executed. Svetlana gives him the epiphany that he is, and to her surprise, finds out that the Tsar wants her to be one of his cooks. They celebrate with music and dancing.

As a big fan of Katherine the Great's last television show, I know this would make for amazing entertainment. The fact that it is historically accurate only adds to the fun.
