It feels very different from the run-of-the-mill children's books and yet it's really topical and relevant in the world we live in. The premise is fabulous and deals with a sensitive issue in a straightforward and very direct way. The child's progression from anticipated conflict to total, willing acceptance is a wholesome message for youngsters who find themselves in this situation through no fault of their own.
